The most common level of strategy is Business strategy and exist inside strategic business items with as aim to realize aggressive benefit in a certain market. If an organization has multiple SBU’s, there needs to be an overarching Corporate strategy that ties all SBU’s collectively via company configuration. Here, prime management must resolve on resource allocation and where to speculate and where to divest. Lastly, Functional strategy exist within departments similar to Marketing, HR and Production. Ideally, we must always check with tactics instead of strategies because of the operational nature of the selections made within these departments.
